Why Did Britain Sign The Anglo German Naval Agreement
It was signed in the League of Nations treaty series in 1935 and lasted until April 28, 1939, when Adolf Hitler renounced it. In November 1934, the Germans officially informed the United Kingdom of their desire to conclude a treaty with the United Kingdom under which the Reichsmarine could reach 35% of the size of the Royal Navy. that the British fleet possessed, and from a British point of view, it would be the easiest German fleet to defeat in the event of war.  He neglected, like other German politicians, that Britain must respond not only to the threat of a purely maritime rival, but also to the domination of Europe by any aggressive military power, especially if that power is capable of threatening the Netherlands and the canal ports.
